What to visit?
The Citadel
The citadel of Roses, fortified in 1543 and whose interior formed the municipality until the 19th century, contains in its interior the church of Santa Maria de Roses, one of the first representations of Romanesque art in the peninsula.
The Trinitat Castle
At the tip of the Poncella, built in 1544 (XVI century) by Captain Pizaño, under the reign of Carlos I of Spain and V of Germany.
The Santa Maria Parish Church
Church Square. The current building was consecrated in 1796, and the apses, transept crossing and the dome have been preserved. The rest of the nave, side chapels and the facade are neoclassical from 1853 and designed by the architect Marti Sureda. Currently under renovation
The Panoramic viewpoint of the Puig Rom Mountain
This is the ideal place from which you can contemplate one of the most impressive panoramic views of the bay and the vast plain of the Alt Emporda and from where you can enjoy the most beautiful sunsets.
The harbor
Located to the Eastern part of the village and at the foot of the Puig Rom Mountain, it includes the commercial pier and the fishing dike, at the end of the Sereni beach.
Megalithic Route
Inhabited since antiquity, Roses has one of the most complete and impressive megalithic itineraries on the Costa Brava.
The Lighthouse
The Roses lighthouse, built in 1864 under the reign of Elizabeth II, stands imposing and overlooks the sea just below the Trinitat castle.

The Boardwalk, in addition to the incomparable setting in which it is located, offers other attractions for walkers, such as:

Cap de Creus Natural Park
The Cap Creus peninsula belongs to one of the following natural parks: (incorporated in 1998 with the law 4/1998 of March 12, on the protection of the cape of Creus).
Aiguamolls Park
The Aiguamolls de l'Empourda Natural Park (created by Law 21/1983, of October 28, on the protection of the Empourdan marshes) was declared a protected area after an intense and long campaign of defense.
Albera natural site
The Albera picnic and hiking area and of national interest (created by the law 3/1986, of March 10, Parliament of Catalonia), although it does not belong to the town of Roses, is very close.

The underwater wealth of our coasts is for many people an unknown environment and, in some cases, even dreaded.
